NASDAQ Dubai Academy will next week give its first workshops on investor relations and public relations, in association with specialist training company FinanceTalking Ltd, in order to promote best practices by listed companies in the region.
Jeff Singer, Chief Executive of NASDAQ Dubai, the region"s international exchange, said: "These courses will give valuable information about making timely and accurate announcements to the public, understanding regulatory obligations and helping companies identify their shareholders.
"High quality investor relations practices help to build public trust in the capital markets and enable companies to achieve fair value for their shares. Important steps have been taken in the region to improve investor relations standards, but there is room for further progress."
NASDAQ Dubai Academy will hold a one-day introductory course on June 30 followed by a one-day advanced course on July 1, both aimed at in-house and external investor relations and public relations practitioners. Details are at http://www.nasdaqdubai.com/academy/index.html
The tutor for both courses will be Louise Breen, a Director of Finance Talking, a UK-based financial corporate communications training provider.
Ms. Breen said: "We are delighted to be back in the Middle East, in partnership with NASDAQ Dubai, after our initial programmes in early 2009. We are looking forward to helping develop best IR practices in the region".
